Another place made me feel what a tiny place I occupied in the big world! If you want to be alone away from the tourists (and also locals!) in a place soaked in serenity then head to Utah. You will find many of them. You can chat with the rocks and sing with the rivers. This is Goosenecks State Park in Utah which made me just shut up! I was there at sunrise, early morning haze made it look more mysterious!
Did I ever feel lonely? No! Not at this place. It was unbelievably peaceful. Except for the whisper of morning cold breeze there was no other sound. I didn't find that dark wind of mystery following me here. It was a bliss of spirituality. Very distant, deep below I heard the voice of the flowing river conversing with the walls of the gorge. The view is right there and so even my 10mm lens couldn't get the complete view in one frame. So I attached two pictures together, my work seems very clumsy but still gives an idea of what I saw there! Photoshop-stitch could have worked well but I don't have a copy :(
As I stood there on the edge of the cliff watching the river playing hide-and-seek in the meandering gorge my attention was distracted by a strong wind that would almost push me down! Believe me in the early winter the winds are very strong in the deserts. I wanted to camp here. This lesser known place seemed untroubled. There are no designated campsites here. But still right over the edge of the gorge I could camp. There is nothing else than the view and that view is enough to drive up there!
